Fashion, features and ‘front-of-book’ stories for DuJour, when I served as the magazine’s Creative Director for over six years.
These stories encompass all of the hands-on design and page layout for fashion editorials and features as well as shorter ‘front-of-book’ stories within the five recurring sections of each issue. Samples also include on-set art direction in addition to still life styling. Some have been cut down in length for brevity’s sake.
Over time, this thoroughly evolved the visual language of the magazine as I would implement all new type and custom typographic treatments, which are among my favorite things to work on. Meanwhile, I’d place value on maintaining efficient practices to expedite pre-press processes when directly liaising with the commercial printer as I also handled the back-end production to ‘ship’ each issue to exacting standards.
